Steelhead, Trophy Trout, Smallmouth, Pike and Musky

Reports 3-15-17
Steelhead  Good numbers of fish are in right now with loads of new fish arriving daily with this last rain.  Fish are moving into the Ohio tribs daily and staging with the warm temps this Feb-March.  Reports are getting better every day in PA and Northern Ohio.   Steelhead on the swing has been the best way to target the most aggressive fish.  These are the fish that cartwheel and backflip when they realize that they are hooked.
Clients that enjoy nymphing are doing well with indicator rigs, light weight systems and caddis, beads, stoneflies and small wooly buggers. With the worlds largest populations per mile of Steelhead and the best Trout fishing east of the Mississippi, we do not have to travel too far to put you in front of the fish of a lifetime.

MUSKY  Fish are pre spawn right now with the river temps in the 40's to high 40's.  We are spending most of our time lately on the Allegheny River Tribs.  They are producing some of the best Musky fishing we have seen in years.  Pike, Smallmouth and Walleye are the by catch but provide heaps of action and keep you engaged all day.  The Spring bite has been really good when it is good and really slow on the off days.  Catch a window and it can be really fast and furious action.

TROUT
Streamers in the higher water, Post-Spawn Browns have gone back to eating bugs but a cloudy/rainy day can trigger the meat eaters.  Clarion River and Allegheny were very active through February.  Now the bigger fish have the feed bag on to get their body mass back to normal.  Some of our biggest fish of the year are taken in the late winter early Spring.  Warm days with heavy flows can bring the fish of your within reach.
Early Black Stones and Early Brown Stones are hatching now as of Mid March.  Grannoms, Hendricksons, and Quill Gordons are right around the corner.

SMALLMOUTH
Smally fishing is on hold till later spring when the Lake run Pre Spawn fish hit the tribs. Late April and Early May trigger the pre spawn and spawn bite in the tribs and bigger river systems.
